Description:
This course is designed for people who wish to return to the formal education system after not having studied for some time.

Partial or full completion of the course together with the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) Series C can be used to obtain a rank for tertiary entrance.

CTP100 Language and Learning Skills is the core subject and must be completed in the first year. Any four other subjects may be selected to complete the course.

Prerequisites are shown in brackets ().

Assessment is by assignments or examinations, or a combination of both.

Entrance qualifications: Minimum age is 18.

Media and methods employed: Printed text, tV broadcast, audio cassettes, residential schools, video cassettes, computer conferencing, computer assisted learning.
Printed correspondence texts, study guides, video and audio tapes, computer software, television broadcasts, practical classes, residentials, teleconferencing. Students who enrol in science subjects will be required to attend practical classes.

Administrative information:
Duration of the course is 1 year for full-time students and 2 to 4 years for part-time students. A Certificate in Adult Tertiary Preparation is issued on successful completion of the course.
